Twin turbo build

Danny and i originally built this car to be a fun street car, (stiil is), with a stock 351Windsor with cam, heads and a 76mm turbo. The car ran good, 10.60's on a 17" Drag Radial up here in bad air. The 351 didn't last long, (oil pump failure.)

I got a ticket to Pinks All Out last year and needed a car to drive. Danny told me to take his, but we didm't have motor. We had a bunch of 331 parts in the garage, so I put together a stock block 331 with I believe a Scat rotating assembly. We got it to run a 10.12 at 135 with the 76mm turbo, on a 28x11.50x15 Et Street tire. We tuned on it over the last year and got it to run 10.16 at 136 in the heat a few months ago at Bandimere.

Here is a video from last October at PMI:

Danny has been wanting a 9 second time slip for a year. I didn't think the 76 would get the job done. I told him a couple weeks ago it was out of turbo. The only solution would be a larger turbo or some twins. We had an almost new pair of Turbonetics 62-1's sitting down at the shaop and it wouldn't take much to build a twin kit. He dropped the car off last Wednesday night and Thursday morning i got to work. Here is where I'm at right now, I'm gonna build the charge pipes tomorrow and with alot of luck, make it to the dyno tomorrow night. Last week we made 610rwhp and 741rwtq uncorrected with the 76, I'm hoping for 100 more hp without splitting the stock block.

Re: Twin turbo build

I got this bucket fired up tonight. It's alot louder then I thought it would be. Danny is gonna pick it up tomorrow night and run some boost controller lines and tie up a few loose ends before we tthe dyno Wednesday night.

I'm not too worried about the stock block. I still think it will live. I would really like to have a 9 second stock block/stock ECU car under my belt. I haven't built one of those yet. This car idles like a stock 5.0 and was pulling 13 in/hg of vacuum at idle when I had i running, not bad considering we live above 6000 feet. I will post a dyno graph and possibly some video when we get off the dyno Wednesday.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I really appreciate it.
