Twin Turbo Build Question?????

I am building a 66 AC Cobra kit. I have a 5.0, bored 30 over, with forged rods and pistons, E303 cam, Y303 heads, and a mildly ported and polished Cobra upper/lower intake. I have 2 Garrett T4 turbos, 2 Tial 38mm waste gates and a 50mm blow off valve, and a Microtech ECU system. I am looking for somewhere around 450 to 500 hp.

The fellow at Stage 6 suggested I downsize the turbot's, since I am not looking for MEGA hp and also since I have a space problem. So, my question is what Turbo's should I use??

I found a Turbo match up chart on allfordmustangs.com and when I put in the info it says to use T3, Comp. trim 45, and Turbine HSG A/R .49. When searching most T3's I find w/trim 45 show .48???? Much difference??

T4s are going to be big. With .60/.63 garretts from pre 87 turbo coupes with manual trans, you will be able to make over 500 hp. The auto version may work too. I run 87-88 turbo coupe IHI units. I make 400 rwhp 500 ft-lb on GT40P headed stock cammed motor with stock intake. The IHIs spool really fast but supposedly top out at like 5-6 grand. They are small too.

t4 turbos willl be fine as long as you maintain a low boost no more than 10-15 lbs of boost.

I agree... T4's are a perfect match for a twin setup on a 302. Do you know what the specs are on the turbo's? T4 is pretty vague... Ask Deuce about his twin 44's on his street car... That thing was sick, and made more than enough power.

Just be careful your existing motor doesn't have too high of A c/r.

Personally I would not do twin t4's. Cobra replicas are very light cars and don't need alot of power to make go fast. Contact Precision Turbo and have them set you with the proper turbos.

One of the t4's you have will probably put you over your horsepower goal. A low dollar MPt70 will make 500hp all day long on a 5.0 with heads and cam.
