I already regret getting the headers, but at the time I didn't really have a choice.. Besides, there will be other Mustangs!!
I want a Desiel Truck instead, and put in a Bully Dog
Unforunately, I can't have both. I think I'll fix the headers, then off load it, but if someone wants the car now, I won't say no.. But I don't think too many people have 20 grand laying around, so I doubt I'll be able to sell it and I'll be stuck with it for a while..lol

OK, so my buddy fixed the loose bolts, man were they loose!! The back 2 came out by hand, AND to top it off, the shop that installed them used 10 & 13mm bolts!!! OMFG!!
There is still a whisper of a leak, it looks like the gasket has a tear in it, but for now it's 100% better. I'll just have to pay attention to that before I get it out to the track..
And I think I'll keep it for a while now....

I don't want to sell my mach 1, but you got me thinkin about what she is worth. So i checked the NADA value which came to $18,400.

Mark, back in the day when i would run headers you had to retighten the header bolts with the motor hot. I would install my headers and tighten the bolts, go for a ride around town and after i got home, i would shut off the motor and retighten them. Not sure on the 4.6's because there isn't allot of room, but that was the way back in the day.

the big problem with the mod motors is you have stainless steel headers (or cast manifolds) with stainless bolts and then an aluminum head. the different metals all act differently in heat conditions. therefore the bolts loosen off. the only real fix is locking fasteners for the bolts to hold them in place while running the car.

Locking fasteners work. I bought and installed them on the 306 for the twin turbo car.

Glad to hear that you are not selling it Mark!

Locking fasteners are the way to go. My Fox were easy to get to, so I didn't worry too much about it. But in your case they sound like the only way to go.
