Z06 Corvette

So the gods were with me last Saturday afternoon. It was a beautiful day in the mid 50's. I was coming off base after going to the commissary and there was this Vette in front of me. As we cleared the front gate, he was goosing it and it would break loose and get a little sideways on him. I would respond with a little rap of my own without breaking traction. We head north on Rock Rd and he is still goosing it and playing. I keep right up with him. He finally gets in the other lane and pull up beside him. That's when I see the Z06 badging. I hang with him as we come up to a light. I'm thinking that if the light changes, I'm taking the long way home because we are gonna race off the light. Sure enough, the light changed. I start downshifting as we pull up the to the light. He revs a couple of more times and I respond slightly. The light changes and I treed the shit out of him and hooked like a big dog. He was spinning and losing. Anyway, I had car length and a half by the time I shut it down. I have been on cloud nine since then.

Nice kill. How fast were you going when you shut it down? It's hard to find a Vette owner that will race. I've raced a base C5 before but never a Z06.

I'm not sure what's wrong with the Z06 Corvettes you guys are running into. A friend of mine has a Z06, and that thing is fast for cam and headers. Here is a video.
