What is the smallest size rim that I can put 315/35-17 tires on safely. I am wanting two extra rims for DR's. Is the 315/35-17 the tire that will not change my speedo reading. I think that is the one but I am not sure. Thanks in advance for any information. What is the width of my stock wheels.

I would just try to find a rim setting like this:
Wheel Size: 17x9"
Wheel Backspacing: 5.95"
Wheel Offset: +24mm
Bolt Pattern: 5 x 4.5 inch
That should keep you in the ballpark.

I would use at least a 9" wheel. A 10-10.5" would obviously work (and look) a little better. A 315/35R17 is the same overall diameter as your stock tires, so your speedo will be on.
