Has anyone ever run a Hoosier 28 10.5 slick on an 87-93 GT? Was wondering if I would need to modify the ground effects on my 92? My brother ran a 28 10.5 MT ET Drag on his car and they rubbed a hole in his ground effects on his 91 GT. Just wondering if the Hoosiers are a tad bit shorter than the MT's?

Lafinrat what air pressures are you running on the Hoosiers?
I'm looking at getting some 27" so as not to rub my ground affects on my GT.

As far as slicks go, I always had good luck with M/T's, I have run 29.5's and 31x10.5w's on my blower car, went faster with the 29.5's. I have always run mine tubeless, between 9.75 and 10.5 psi, depending on track conditions, little squirrley on low pressure. Went 171mph on each tire, et was quicker with the smaller tire. I also only put about 25 runs on the tires and then install new set.

Drag radials, all I've messed was the M/T. We have 325/50's on Danny's Mustang, and that's what were gonna test on. Hoosier has a 10 inch tire that they don't allow in the True Ten 5 classes, can't remember why, or the part number. That is probably the tire we will use in Ultimate Street. I watched David Wolfe go 7.40 at 196 on a M/T Drag radial last year at WFC, and Mike Keenan went 7.5x's on a 315/60, so they must be pretty good tires.

A friend of mine runs a Goodyear Radial Slick on his stock suspension Nova and swears by them, they just have a short life, 60 foots start going away.

I would prefer to get a Radial because of stability at the top end but M/T is only one that is 27" tall. I dont know how well the Hoosiers DOT bias tires feel at the top end but I dont care for the ET streets with low air pressure.
Goodyear didn't show anything but a 26" and 28" tall tire.

OK so who is a dealer for Hoosiers around here. Jegs and Summit sell them but have additional freight on tires. Did'nt see a 27" radial for a 15" wheel either. If the bias tire is stable on the big end then I can get those to go on my Convo Pros.
