Oh yeah, I solely blame tires for my only street racing loss in many years. It was when I first got my Nova together 3 years ago. I raced Barry (Meanstreet) and got hammered out of the hole. I was reeling him in, but didn't quite catch up. I didn't have the nitrous on my car at the time (or I probably would've hit it). I believe he was on a 200 or 250 shot. I was running 29.5/11.5-15 ET Drags. They were quickly disposed of for a set of QT Pros, and I've never looked back. The last couple times I had my car on that same road with the Hoosiers, I was pulling the front wheels in the air. I couldn't even do a burn out if I wanted. |
Actually that was on the 150 jets, I didn't jet up to the 200's till I raced ya again last year, and the change hurt me more than it helped me on that particular night (my car sideways at nearly 120, headlights pointing out in the field at the top of third gear remember?) I do, still trying to get the brown stain out of my seat...
