knock knock

i just got done installing a new radiator in my 95 mustang. when i fired it up i heard a knocking sound coming from under the hood. i checked it out and noticed the smoke coming up from under the drivers side of the motor. what could this be? im wondering if it has anything to do with driving the car when it was low on coolant. i hope its something small, if not good excuse for a swap lol. id rather rebuild the stock engine anyways if it comes to that, hopefully not

Hard to say, could be several things....have you checked the oil? make sure its topped up, did you get all the air out of the cooling system? without being there or hearing it its hard to say what it could be.

i did check the oil and it was fine, needs to be changed but still at a good level. i didnt think bout air in the cooling system. think ill take care of that tomorrow, its pourin ass rain right now. one good thing bout have 2 cars, when ones down you can still get around

did you check your freeze plugs? any h2o coming from them?

well this is getting rediculous. i tried restarting the mustang after topping off the radiator, but it would not fire. the odd thing is it took no time at all to drain the battery at all. so im thinking its either a bad batter, which is still under warranty or its a bad starter. repacing the battery could be free, but the starter is friggin expensive.

unfortunately if there was a real knock, it may be that the engine compression wont allow it to turn over... best of luck!

Check the radiator for oil or the oil for water... may be a cracked head.

the oil is blacker than coffee. when i toped off the coolant i didnt notice anything odd. so kinda doubting ive got a cracked head. yeah i know i need to change the oil
