Re: knock knock

That is all I have for suggestions. Water will create too great of resistance for the engine to crank if it is getting into a cylinder. I hope I am way off base for you. Maybe pull the plugs to make sure there isnt water in the cylinders? you can spin the engine without the plugs in to make sure there isnt water.

Re: knock knock

i hope ya wrong too, i need to get this car goin so i can sell my other car. i did notice tho that earlier when i was trying to start it i saw some liquid squirting up from the middle of the front of the car. couldnt tell if it was coming from the radiator (which is brand new) or the engine. only liquid i saw was on the pulley for water pump (i think)

Re: knock knock

if you see liquid on your water pump pulley, check the seep hole on the bottom of the water pump, your pump could be bad now too.

Re: knock knock

well i tried the spark plug trick. i pulled a spark plug from each side. drives side had some coolant on it...so im thinkin either cracked head or a blown head gasket. hopefully its the gasket. and the passenger side had a little bit of oil on it. not sure what that could be. probbly not good. starting to think i got a total piece of crap here. oh well life goes on i guess

Re: knock knock

sounds like a tear down is definately in order.....or go to a scrap yard and pick up a whole 4.6 to drop in it.

a 4.6 mustang sounds better than the 3.8 that it currently has. i put a pressure tester on the radiator and it held pressure fine. but i heard that sometimes when an engine is cool the leak wont be present till the engine is warmed up. since i cant get it to start its goin to tough to tell if i have a leak for sure. but the coolant on the tip thats in the block seems like a good indicator that i got a leak
