loss of power

My Roush is all stock with almost 78k on it.
It lost power 2 times on me, like it was running out of gas.

This did not happen very often, but it was very bothersum.
So I changed the fuel filter and it was fine for a few weeks.

Now it is doing it again. It only happens going from a dead stop. In 2 or 3rd gear under hard acceration.

If I pull over and let it idle a little bit, it then runs fine.
The check eng. light does not come on.

Any thoughts??

Re: loss of power

Well it sounds like your not getting enough fuel at WOT or close to it. My best guess would be that your fuel pump is starting to go, but I don't know shit!

Could be something wrong with your inertia switch, check it to make sure nothing is pushing on it when you do wide open runs.....

Re: loss of power

Check for vaccuum leaks.
Also make sure everything behind the MAF (MAF to engine) is hooked up and tight.

Sounds like an unmetered air source of some sort that goes VERY lean when under hard acceleration. My cobra did the same thing when the MAF mounting was loose from the intake.

The light does not come on.

The MAF is tight.
I removed all of the air intake system to inspect it and I did not see any thing wrong.

It has not had a ( loss of power ) sence I put the air intake sys. back on.

Maybe something was not tight or clean,
but, like I said it only happens once in a while.

I will park my Ranger and start driving the Roush everyday to see how it does.

Thanx for all of your help.
.......... If your ever in the area, I will buy you a beer.

Re: loss of power

I found out that the problem is in the Traction Control.

While driving the car home at night I can see the light come on.
