Tranny ?

First of all this is my first 5-speed just to let you guy's know. My ?/problem is I was on my way to my parent's house and I went to shift into second and I had the clutch engaged all the way it started grinding really bad then finally I muscled it into gear then I went to shift into third and more grinding noise then finally it will make a clunk noise and go into gear. First, Fourth, and Fifth are fine no noise and goe's into gear good. I just had my car serviced two weeks ago at my local Ford dealer where I baught my car from and it's still under warrranty but I thaught I would ask you guy's what the problem mite be. This is my first 5-speed and I don't drive my car like a kid and hotrod the crap out of it I think that 2nd and 3rd gear are starting to go out. I just wanna see if I'm rite or not. When I first baught the car the salesman said it had a brand new tranny well I had some problem's and took it to them and there service department said that it was a new Reman tranny so that kinda upset me then they tried saying that they could fix it but I have to pay for it I said like hell I am you guy's told me it had a brand new tranny and I have a extended warranty and they said oh sorry sir. Anyway's they put a new Reman back in it about a year ago and know all of a sudden this. I was thinking if I need another tranny should I just ask for a brand new tranny not a new reman. One more note when I took my car in for service they found that my throwout bearing was bad and they adjusted my clutch. I'm not trying to sound wierd or dumb and bother you guy's with stupid ?s I'm just wanting to know what is wrong with my tranny is all. Thanks

sounds a little like a synchro problem, but does it do it every time you shift, or just when its waming up? mine grinds a little when i first shift in the mornings if its cool out

It's only when I'm driving my car and it just started doing it yesturday out of the blue kinda suck's cause Loadclr invited me to join him on a cruise in and know my car is acting up LOL. Thank's alot I'm just trying to learn this stuff so when I have nomore warranty I kinda have a better understanding what's wrong and I have an idea when I take to a shop also. I'm the type of person that is mechanically inclined and I do alot of work on my own or atleast try to and it's nice having the warranty sometime's cause I don't have to do the work LOL. I know a very little about a 5-speed but I understand and know the basic's though. Once again I really appreciate it thank's.

I agree with brian, it sadly sounds like your tranny is going bad again........I would damn sure get intouch with the dealership if you still have warranty and have them either rebuild it or put in another tranny.......

Yea I was on top of my game yesturday even though I was upset as soon as it happend my wife was calling the service department and as soon as he got on the line I was in the process of shifting it and he said yea you are bringing that in tomarrow that's not good so atleast he recognized the problem to kinda. Is this a common problem with the 3650 cause I just had it replaced last August and I don't drive my car like the typical younger crowed LOL. If anything I baby to much as funny as that sound's even with all my mod's I've done but I also do it cause I know I won't get traction with 4.30's and I don't have DR's yet cause I have my warranty and they know how I treat my car cause they just gave me 4 brand new tire's and made the comment you take care of your car don't you I said yea it's my life line like when I was deployed to Iraq my truck was my life line so yea you can say I know every nook and cranny of my car I only bring it here cause I have a warranty and I like not having to do the work sometime's LOL. well hope it all works out, and just so you know...there is nothing wrong with a remaned tranny, probably better then factory new if you ask me. remaned's are hand built for the most part, and new would be built by a machine....a machine can't look in there and say..wait that doesn't look so good. say FTW and go with a t-56 and call it good.

Yea I just got back with my rental car it's a Focus LOL. They are sending an inspector out to look at my car to make sure it's coverd by the warranty if not I have to pay $528 to have it fixed and I don't really have that much so hopefully it's still coverd with the warranty. So I'm kinda worrying about it know. Thank's for the info. The only thing they told me sofar was that something in the tranny deffinately is messed up.
