I HATE Raccoons!!!

Get this...I was driving home from the movie store with my girl the other night at about ten. Then all of a sudden, a friggin' raccoon darts in front of the car. I tried to slow down, but of course I hit it though. It screwed up my front bumper. I need a new bumper cover, foglamp, and new bumper clips. Totally fried the front end. It was a big raccoon, that thing must have been twenty five pounds. Totally bogus.

I know what you mean ,but loook on the bright side atleast it wasn't a deer. Good luck on the new bumper.

yeah, raccoons blow. i work at a bar, and for some reason on my way home i always see raccoons. i have hit probably 4 raccoons total. Not with my car, always the parents, haha. The one broke the power steering line somehow, but that was a biggin coon too. haha, i feel your pain.

Sucks to hear about you ride getting busted up!

I have to dodge them everytime I go to see my girlfriend. She lives up in Jonesboro and when it's summertime, the bugs are sooo bad at night when I usually travel that I don't wash the car till the next morning after I get there. It will be completely peppered with bugs all over the front of the car!!!!! Dirty bastards!

I used to work the 2nd shift so I went home like 30 miles on 2 lane blacktop. When they didn't tar and rock the last 10 miles. Deer whistles and driving lights were mandatory to keep Billy Bob Big Buck from turning the LTD II into a skateboard.
So I'm haulin "A" down the last strech before I hit the rocked road and it sort of dips and rises with one fairly quick dip right where I lift to start slowing before I turn.
I come over that last little rise and SURPRISE! Every coon in the county was having a family reuninion all over the road in that dip. So I lean on the horn and downshift and and aim for what looks like the least populated spot in the road. It still sounded like a styrofoam bat being drug along a picket fence and I had to stop. I was wondering if I had enough ammo for the ol .22 pistol to finish off the suffering cripples as I turned around.
I was amazed to see out of what looked like 50 raccoons there were 3 dead on the road and one dragging off with a broken back. I dispatched him with one shot and looked all over listening for more cripples, but they had all vanished. I moved the bodies off the road and went on back home.
My (now X) wife woke me up at 2-dam-early o'clock and asked what I had hit with the car.
"Just a couple of raccoons".
"Bulls__t"! was her reply.
So I went out to see what she was all fired up about.
The grill was all busted up and dangling, one driving light was gone mount and all, the other was busted to crap and dangling by the wires,the front valance under the bumper was loose at one end and stuffed up almost into the radiator and it looked like Freddie Crugger had a 6 pack of victims he bled out all over the hood and sides of the car.
When I took her to the scene of the crime there were no little coon bodies and just a few splatters of blood.
By the by, I hate to think about hitting any animal and had nightmares for a week... until her father brought his Countur home on the hook after running into another bunch 10 miles the other dirrection from home on a different road! Demolished the front plastic, radiator, fenders and took off one side view mirror. Then he killed the tranny driving it home with a caved in A.T. pan and leaking tranny lines.
My brother-in-laws liked to never let me live it down, buying me 'coon whistles' and asking when my next murder spree was.

i got a deer about 4 years ago it cost 5000 to fix, I am an avid hunter now! lol

Deer are not real smart I had a heard of them total A truck of mine I saw them comeing at a full run so I slowed down to a stop in the middle of the road Had 6 run into the side of me at full tilt run took out the whole left side of the truck the hood and the grill the inurance totalled it at $12,000.00 Damn that pissed me off it was a real nice truck and the replacement ended up costing $26,000.00 it was only 3 years old

Sorry to hear about the coons. I have hit several but it was always in trucks. Good luck getting it fixed.
