Next major expense for my Fox

ProM Racing has come out with a complete NEW EFI harness and set up for Foxbody Mustangs. It includes a new computer which is actually the Spainish Oak computer which is being used on the new Mustangs. Fully programmable from a laptop via OBD II connection. No more going to the tuner to get a new tune every time I make a big change. Going to get the wide band O2 sensors, 92 mm MAF and maybe their injectors. Just have to win the lottery and buy a laptop..........lol.

Re: Next major expense for my Fox

IMHO... AEM offers more for less cost.

computers look exactly the same, cost a few hundo less and offers more. AEM has Traction control, 2 step rev limiter, boost controller, wet or dry nitrous control and can be set up for coil on plug IGN and/or eliminate the MAF.

Plus pro-m has been in and out of business too many times and customers were hung out to dry.

Re: Next major expense for my Fox

Nothing wrong with the stock pcm, but it is very limited in the tuning you can do to it and you usually have to take it to a dyno shop to get it tuned. The new computers you can do the tuning yourself with a laptop and tune a whole lot more than you can with the old computers.

Jayson - The ProM setup is using a modified Spainish Oak computer that is even better than the ones in the new Mustangs. With the exception of traction control and eliminating the MAF, I believe the ProM set up offers everything else you mentioned and it can run twin turbos or superchargers out of the box. I would hope that once you have the setup installed, you wouldn't need ProM again except to maybe update the programing, but you never know. In this economy, almost anyone could be out of business at anytime.

Ya the stock computer does leave a lot to be desired lol. There are some piggy back option that allow someone to chip/tune from a laptop but Im not a fan as most are pretty complicated !!

I looked and the Pro-M does offer the speed density if ya want to eliminate the MAF. The more I look the more I like it. Just wish they showed more of the "software" tho. Im NOT good with computer "stuff" and the AEM seems a lil easier for dummies like me and has been around long enough to have a few AEM tuning forums to beg for help lol lol

I looked into several... quarterhorse, Andersons PMS and AEM.. I have decided they are all too much for me to understand lol And way too much too much can go wrong when I screw it up lol

I know what you mean about not being good with the computer stuff and I wish they would show more of the software. I have never tuned anything before and am a little hesitant to do it without supervision, but the write up in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords makes it sound like it is very easy. I will have one of the local guys that does his own tuning help me with the first time or two doing it.
