explorer gt40 engine question

does anyone know if any of the 90's explorer engines that had gt40 heads came with forged pistons like some of the mustang engines??

would be a easy swap to gain gt40 heads/intake but I NEED FORGED pistons lol

NEVER do business with Sam Rivera AKA Sam Wilson of Rivera Race Chassis. Paid 2800 to put car together. NO work was done, never gave back my turbo kit. Now I see old adds of my parts being sold on craigslist while car was at his shop.

No problem........I believe if you find one built before 91, some had forged.....but everything after 91, we are fucked.....

are ya spraying??? if not id say go with it.... detonation will kill em both but the forged will take more energy or time to put a window in. The weak link is the 2 bolt main!!
Here's a link to a right up on 2 bolt main stock short blocks. With boost the hyper's out lived the block....

wow I knew the block was a very weak link just didnt realize it was weaker then hyper pistons lol

I have not decided for sure yet but am seriously thinking on sticking with turbo

if your looking for a bad ass combo bang for the buck... go mexican 302 2 bolt main!! there have been 8 second cars with a hecho en mexico 2 bolt mains that have lasted seasons!!! i imagine rpm helps them stay together as well as tune. Thats what might be in the working for the vert... want to max out the twin t3/t4's... and scared shitless of cracking the block in my current set up at the little 12 psi that its at...
