Exclamation What is the best cooling set up for a 85 5.0

Im trying to configure the best cooling system setup for my car to ensure it WILL not over heat in traffic. I am looking to replace my entire cooling system, radiator, fan, thermostat, hoses, ect. Hoping i can get some good info from those that know more than i do. thanks for all the help.

I'd guess just a stock water pump, 2-3 row aluminum radiator (I can't remember which for a 5.0), and regular hoses will work just fine. Thermostat, I can't remember which either.

Yep go with the stock pump summit sells a nice radiator for fox mustangs i think i paid 220 bucks for mine and it works great, polished up nice to. As for hoses stock will work but if you want colors shop around. Carburated go 160 fuel injected go with 180

definately a 2 or 3 row rad with dual electric fans. 180 degree T-stat. I would also consider switching over to an electric water pump.....

Re: What is the best cooling set up for a 85 5.0

ok so heres what i have planned a for the cooling system: a Fluidyne all aluminum 2 core radiator, a high capasity water pump (belt drivin to maintain stock look, a new single flexilite cooling fan with shroud and adjustable settings, and a 180 thermostate, and blue silicone hoses from good year, im hoping with this set up there will be no overheating in my car for the long traffic delays i will encounter

I hope you have better luck with your Fluidyne then I did . I finally had to take mine to a radiator shop and high temp epoxyed 5 leaks , on the cores where they go into the end tanks .
