new 5.0......hummmm

So i read all 20 pages on the coyote 5.0 in the march issue of 5.0. honestly, it is badass and i'd love to have one, but there isn't much more you can do to the engine to make more power without tearing into the engine and replacing the rods and pistons with forged pieces. i'm kinda disappointed but at the same time i'm pretty excited. they kept the engine mounts and bellhousing pattern the same as the 4.6, so i think it would be f'n sweet if i could put that motor in my 02.... so i'm kinda torn...i know that i will want more power later on, so i'm really thinking about getting a forged rotating assembly and trick flow heads and a KB blower for my 4.6. but the 5.0 in a new edge would be really sweet. what do y'all think?

I think the new 5.0 will be awesome. Once the newness wears off and builders get their hands on it, the sky will be the limit.

i am not a modular fan but after reading the 5.0 article i will say i was impressed. alot of engineering behind the new 5.0.
but my question is if your gonna put 11 to 1 compression, a steel crank, and nodular main caps in a proiduction engine why in the hell would you put JUNK ass rods and pistons in there?

and that is my exact point. to increase the power of either motor will require a teardown of the motor and the easier route for me will be to stick with the 4.6. i just think the cool factor of a factory 5.0 and 6 speed in a new edge would be sick.

I would wait until all the bugs are sorted out... they all have atleast a few bugs the very first year.

Ford does not have bugs.LOL I want one today, but I will have to wait a few years for a new one.

If it were me, which it's not ( kinda sad lol ), i'de swap out my 2valve and throw in a 4valve with the KB Blowzilla or a crate 4valve with the eaton blower....
Like some of the others said, wait a few years till all the kinks are worked out... The 5.0 is a sweet engine tho

supercharge your 4.6 even without the new rotateing assemblies you can make shit loads of power My Kenny bell is pushing 10 lbs boost 500 Plus RWHP on the original crank and pistons when I called ford to size this up they assured me it would handle a bit more than this but wouldnt tell me how much my car has 12,000 miles on it now and is running stronger than ever if I burn or break a piston and i do believe its if I will upgrade but then I will put the smaller pulley on as well and take over 600 HP

I like the new motor and am wondering how long until someone retro mods one in to a Fox (might have to be me.....like I could afford that.....lol). I can't wait to see what starts happening after the aftermarket guys get ahold of it. It won't take much to put it over a 1000 hp. Look at what Shelby has already done with that motor and a Whipple supercharger for the new GT350.
