NeverEnuff PSR...With help by NA SVT, (Todd)

Here we go. ill start with saying this is time consuming...So far I haven't really needed any Air Tools...but I am sure a nice strong Air Compressor and Die Grinder would be SWEET......but...well, my compressor wasn't up for the task of it...so...time for a bigger better one...

Anyway...get are some pics..so far...

First, just cutting the bottom off.


Second is cutting up the middle of the intake...it has to be removed to be short runner


Third is a second pic of the cutting up the middle to start removing the runner and the bell mouths


Forth is some of the bell mouths removed...very time consuming...grab a beer and some ear plugs and eye protection...Dremel, works good. Getting about 1.5 ports cut and out per cutting wheel.


Fifth just another blurry shot.



Ill get more pics up when I can...

Im going to try, with the help of my Dad, chucking up the bell mouths in my lathe and seeing if I can get them all symetrical and damn near perfect...

LOL. PSR= Ported Short Runner intake.

Basically make the runners shorter...and bigger. Better for higher RPM power, and won't lost much lower TQ compared to most aftermarket intake manifolds...This is a street car...so I don't want a 5000-8000rpm monster and that is it...I want SOME lower TQ street power...hence the reason for this...the long runner length gives to ton of TQ, but with the cams, and bolt ons and heads I am running, I need more RPM...being as I am going to make power in the 7500rpm range...

It is a stock 99/01 Cobra 03/04 Mach 1 intake...

Was going to stop tonight...but the woman got me a few more 'motivational' beverages and told me to keep going. Got the rest of the bell mouths off...and some of the 'between' material off.

Honestly...this takes time, but it really isn't that bad...I just have ADHD and think it takes forever....I am SURE it will be worth it in the end...

With as much material I have taken off...man...I would ONLY think my car would lift the fronts!!!! lol.

I want to weigh it and see if I even remove a pound...I have yet to throw away anything...
