Switching over

Well since getting my coupe back, I have decide to make a change. You may remember I posted about going with a EFI conversion on my Victor Jr. intake. I am still going to do that, but in the middle of getting the stuff together, I decided I wanted more power. Imagine that, huh ? lol Im getting rid of the N2O and Im going turbo. Im going with a single blow thru setup. Then when I get that figured out, and get a little more familiar with it. Then I'll finish my EFI swap. So far its coming together nicely, and I dont have alot left to get. What I do have left is the expensive stuff though. So it will take a little while to get it all together. Being that Im seriously poor. So here's the deal....

Dart block

Scat 4340 crank and rods

9:1 compression

Custom cam. No specs yet

205cc CNC ported TFS heads

Ported Victor Jr. intake

CSU 750 blow thru carb

GT4718 turbo

Digital 7 ignition

Performance Automatic C-4

3500 stall

Gears Im going to have to play with to see what it likes. I already swapped the 4.30's for a set of turbo friendly 3.55's.

Its going into a 90 coupe that weighs right at 2800lbs.

I still have to get :

Block

turbo

digital 7 box

pistons

cam

and send my carb to CSU

A guy in E. maryland is doing the piping for me now. I already got the rest. So Im getting closer. lol I was going to wait til it was done and spring it on y'all, but I couldnt wait.lol

I have some people helping me from another site Im on. Guys that REALLY know theyre shit. They build cars for the Pro X275, and drag radial racers. Among other pro racers. They tell me cranked up this should get me mid 8's, and quite possibly low 8's with my car being so light, and still be very streetable. One said this setup in one of his customers cars( A radial racer) ran 8.20's. Thats why the 9:1 compression. They say with a track only car a half a point lower would probably be optimal, but it would be a pig off boost. The only problem is that with that turbo, I'll be on the edge of all my crank, and rods can handle. I will probably not crank it up all the way just to be safe, or go down a size. I'd still be happy with a low 9, or high 8. Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Good or bad, lets hear em !!

Re: Switching over

Anyone have a Dart, Boss, or "R" block laying around ? Im looking for a Dart, but Im not in a position to be picky. As long as its strong. lol Does anyone know the limits on a R block ? I know the Boss will, but Im not sure if an R is up to the task. What do y'all think, or know ?

The "M-6010-R302" Block is the one Im referring to.

I have never been able to afford one of the nice blocks like those, but from reading your post, your car is gonna be badass......
