Max HP out of a 4.6 3 valve

What is the max hp you can pull out of a STOCK 4.6 3 valve engine without replaceing the rotating assy and pistons???

i guess it depends on if you are going N/A or forced. I think once you start forced induction you are pushing the limits on borrowed time.

But I am not really up on the 3v's so its unknown to me. I have seen 600rwhp 3V's on stock bottom end, but again, for how long?

I was curios I am running a Kenne bell supercharger and can get up to 18 psi but I cannot stick the tires when i put the smaller pully on its about 10 psi Kenne bell says its safe at this with no problems and tells me I am gettin around 500 hp at the wheels this puts my horsepower around 540 to 550 the other pully has to be pushing 625 at the flywheel I would like to use it on the strip but I am afraid it may be too much

I would go with your gut.........If your injectors are stock, maf is stock, etc......you may face going lean and detonating......Especially running those kinds of numbers. 500hp i would think is safe and not much over that unless you upgrade to the above. Don't risk it.......

if kenne bell says 10 lbs is safe i'd stay right there. you may be able to squeeze 12 or 13 but id say 18 is way too much for a stock bottom end. i saw 21 lbs blow the rods out of a lightining and those have a forged factory bottom end

No this is a complete set up new injectors new MAF new aftercooler new throttlebody ect it was also programmed by kenne bell for 5200 feet there is a bit of de rate for this the car does run a bit on the rich side

Kenne Bell's site quotes about 540 before failures. Clutch was actually first. Unfortunately Ford did the same type build with the 5.0 Coyote (powder pressed rods etc...). I have studied KB a lot and they have very truthful and realistic expectations so if you have done your homework there I would suggest trusting them. My plan is similiar, add the KB for a year until I can afford the lower end rebuild and the clutch; but dont think I wont push it when it comes to power.

I am really happy so far with just the Steeda intake... raced a rice burner that showed me his dyno; 590 hp at the wheels, we ran out of road at about 1/2 mile and I was starting to pull ahead, stock 2010 with just the intake and trac pack. I work with this guy and he has sunk a ton of cash into this car, he was pissed!@!@!

most places ive seen, 450-500 rwhp is on borrowed time, FI or not

I would highly recommend that you listen to the guys at KB, when I put the blower on my girlfriends 06 GT I was told 8 to 10 psi max on a stock lower end....18 psi and you will be getting your new bottom end sooner than you wanted it.

yea you probably right there problem is with that bottom end i will also get a new block heads ect cause they useally just explode
