Drive Train Problem!!!

I'm just wondering if you guy's might have an idea what might be wrong. I had my 4.30 gear's installed back in April and a few week's ago I had my car in my buddie's shop and we noticed I had put some fluid down so I jacked my car up and looked at my rearend area and I noticed that it seam's that my pinion seal is leaking it wasn't that bad but I know it has to get fixed. My ? is would a bad pinion seal cause a vibration when I drive my car in town at 30 my dash vibrate's and when I'm on the highway it goe's away. Is that just the pinion seal that is bad or is there potentially another problem jw? I'm kinda scared to findout lol.

Re: Drive Train Problem!!!

i am guessing that when they pulled the driveshaft to put in your new gears, they never marked it and put it back in wrong. thus causing your vibration and wrecking your pinion seal.

Re: Drive Train Problem!!!

Have them check the pinion nut and put a new seal in it. Also check the pinion bearings, bad deal but its the only way to know. Could be the driveshaft as said before. In my car i put a tko in back in 2003-2004 never new about shortning the shaft. That will eat a pinion bearing for sure. had shortened, this year and all is good till 135+. Anybody got a good 31 spline posi for sale? Good luck
