? about my gear's

I currently have 4.30's and I really like them but on the highway my car don't like the high RPM's if I stay at 70 I'm at 2,500rpm that is ok but I like to open her up once in awhile ok lol alot. So I was thinking about putting 3.73's in my car then I can still take off really good and I can haul ass on the highway mine doe's see alot of highway time and I plan on taking it to Las Vegas this summer for a vacation so what do you guy's think or should I just keep the 4.30's. Also my car is setup to run on the roadcourse's also and I plan on racing it on a road course here sometime and won't 3.73's be better for that also. I just want what's best for my car is all and I need some assistance lol. I almost forgot I'm gonna be getting a Procharger Supercharger for it also.

if you are going to do any power adder, the 4.30 are going to be too tall and the 3.73 should be perfect. when i end up puttin on the KB (sometime in the future) i'm gonna pull out my 4.10s and go with 3.73s.

Ok that's what I thought. So being I'm not gonna get the Procharger until I get deployed do I just go ahead and do the swap know or wait until I get home and get the Procharger installed I guess that should have been my ? lol. Thank for the info.

I would be glad to do that for ya. As soon as I figureout when I'm gonna swap them I will let you know and you can have them man. I'm just not sure I wan't to swap them just yet cause I'm not getting the Procharger for my car until I get deployed in Nov. but if I happen to go ahead and swap them I will be sure to let ya know It's gonna be hard to swap them cause they really make my car launch and haulass lol and I kinda wanna have some fun before I deploy.

any one put gears in themselves and how hard would it be... and if not how much on average would it cost to have 3.73 gears installed.

i would recomend 3.90s not only because i have them but they are a little deeper than a 3.73 but not quite the 410 or 430 i have a natural asp 306 and with the 3.90s i can still smash it in second at a roll in 2nd and it lights them up, and wellinto third. the 410s were just a little to much with only 26 tall tires hwy rpms a little to high.

best bet for a nice reliable quiet install is to get a rearend guy or ford shop to do it.

My gears cost about 450 dollars to have them installed about a year ago.

Unless you have a lot of experience with setting up gears and reading gear mesh patterns, just leave it to the experts. You will be money ahead!

I would do the 3.73's with a power adder. Too many people like them and say they are about the perfect gearing for a supercharger. Of course it's always about personal preference.
I would also do the install on the gears a good bit before I got the S/C to allow them to break in good before I started putting some serious punch on them.
