I saw a show one time where they were bow hunting some huge jumping fish, and they actually shot several of them. I was shocked to say the least, and these were very big fish.

They are Flying Carp.
Brought to the US from Japan for an experiment that went horribly wrong. These fish over run lakes and rivers. The state of Illinois has built an underwater electric fense to stop the fish from entering the Great Lakes. The fish will more than likely kill off all other sport fishing according to the DNR.

Kind of like the zebra mussels we have here in Kansas.

They have fish in Venice, La where I work that jump out of the water. They call them mullets and they do react to light. I have hit a few in mid air in my boat. The ones I see most of the time are 6 to 8 inches long. There are some bigger ones but most are smaller.
