Trip to the JSA in the DMZ

There is ONE point in the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea where BOTH countries operate a checkpoint. This is called the Joint Security Area, and has alot of history that I never knew about (anyone know that NK soldiers murdered two american officers with axes and the axes are now framed in a NK museum about 2km away from the border?) anyways...there was a TON of shit i wanted to take pictues of, but couldn't cause of security reasons. Anyways, here are pics, and the main idea of the pic should be in the title of the thumbnail, but if there are any questions or whatever, feel free to ask. it was a kick ass trip and it was only NCO's from my battalion. We did this as an NCO PD (professional development).

Also, i stood in North Korea for about 10 minutes, with the first 3 of them not knowing i was standing in N.Korea. kind of a weird feeling....

Interesting pictures. I was in college in August 1976 and somehow I missed hearing about the axe murder incident. I didn't have a television and I guess I didn't read the newspapers. It had to have been a big deal.
