rebuilt tranny

i recently purchased a rebuilt transmission, it is rather rough getting in any gear, especialy first. i was wondering if anyone knew how long it take for it to lossen up?

Do you have your clutch adjusted right? I had that problem with my car a while ago adjusted the clutch, no problem.

i'll look in to the clutch being adjusted, it is brand new. hopefully thats the quick fix. thanks you guys for all the input.

i really dont know what fluid is used. the guy who put it filled it. he said that the is properly adjusted and it would loosen up after around 1000 miles. does that seem right??

If he didnt use ATF then it will be hard as hell to shift it. You might want to take the fill plug out and see.

Dont sound right to me. I agree with demontang, take the fill plug out and see if he used ATF.
