Hello I'm new to this site and was introduced to it by a very dear friend..ponyexpress. I own a 1998 Convertible GT Mustang. On way to bringing it home to MS the transmission locked up in second gear and had to haul it back to AR where my brother is. Now in the process of looking for a transmission that won't cost me over $3,000 which is what the dealership is asking..that doesn't include installing it. OUCH

Yea, craigslist a replacement. You shouldnt need to be paying that much for a trans (unless it's a brand new one waiting to withstand 500+ft/lbs)

Hey im happy to see you finally made it to the site Kelly . I told you these people were friendly here .
It is T45 5 speed i believe that is what i found came in the 98's . Oh yeah and that 3000 was for a brand new T45 from the dealer lol thats crazy .

yeah the 98 came with a T-45 and thats way too much I bet you can get a T-56 6 speed for less than that price

D and D performance has I believe a T-56 Magnum for 2700.
