Screw the 4 valve motor man (trust me). Stick with what you got and just keep cranking the boost.

Yeah, and it's always broken. Parts for DOHC motors are twice as expensive, too. I have probably $2,000 in the valvetrain alone (and saw very little gain). From what I've seen, a worked-over SOHC can make just as much power. You'd be adding weight with the 4 valve, too.

Yeah...but that is a blower car. And I understand that it costs more. 2 more cams, wider heads, different intake...but a lighter aluminum block, so that would offset the heads and maybe the intake. I know the 2V can make power, but once they get to about 600-650RWHP, they run out...I only want about 500-550 MAYBE 600RWHP and that is it. THE ONLY reason why I am thinking about doing this is cause it will pay off my credit card and still leave money to build the 4V N/A. Awww...who knows...maybe Ill just leave it alone and dump the money from my paychecks into my Credit card...

I understand where you're coming from. I think it would be pretty tough to make 400 rwhp with a N/A DOHC motor, though. I remember Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords built one a couple years ago and it took a LOT just to get 350. They had to spin it to almost 8,000 RPM, too. I just don't like working on the 4 valve engines. To do anything you have to pull the motor and that can get old. If I had it to do over, I probably would just buy a nice GT to build.

If your F1 is too loud, maybe you should think about switching blowers. I have a Whipple and it's dead silent (and makes a crap load of torque). Just a suggestion. More power to ya whichever way you decide to go.

I think the 4V would be interesting!

Adam, I know you will say "I have a 4V so I know" BUT, 400RWHP is VERY easy in a 32V dohc motor. n/a. Might take a little more money then just bolt-ons but it is easy. Mach 1's are pulling 320+ with Longtubes/bolt-ons/tune. A big bore 4V with FR500 heads/cams and a nice intake will make well over 400rwhp. I witnessed my good friend make 305RWHP on a Mach 1 with JUST K&N, midpipe, catback. I sold him a 302 stroker with flat tops and he made 348RWHP on a mild tune. Stock manifolds.

If it were me I would probably keep the F1/2V set-up, but in your case Matt, just go with the 4V....Cams,bolt-ons,Aviator intake with a 4inch cowl...hehehehe.
