Thanks Guys

Thanks for the respect regarding my ride guys. Now the bad news....I pulled the distributor after logging ~300 miles on the new cam and distributor gear. Two of the teeth are broken off at the bottom....F$#K!

I think I found the problem, this time the mechanic put the gear about 1/4"-1/2" too high on the distributor shaft. So it was just bitting the cam gear with the bottom of the gear tooth. I brought the distributor back to him and he is going to make it right. That's cool... Those Polymer gears are over 100 bucks!

So I'm down again...

Anyways, other than that the car is running right on. I still need to put the lighter springs in the new MSD distributor to get more advance on the timing. It still has the heavy ones from the factory. That means more tire smoke is on tap!!!!

Dam man I hate to hear about the problems with the distributor eating your teeth off!

I didn't know that the Mustangs had very much trouble with that sort of stuff. I know when I used to mess around with Jeeps, that the small block V-8's in them would have some trouble from time to time.

Re: What's Up.

Thanks for all of the kind remarks guys. I now have pulled my 750 CFM Race Demon Carb off because there was a small fuel leak on the rear float bowl. I was gonna just put some teflon tape on the threads but when I pulled it off I could see the threads in the float bowl are rolled....stripped.

So, I borrowed one of my friends Holley 750 4-barrels to use until I get a new float bowl. Does anybody know where I can order one of them. The Barry Grant factory is in my town (just ~5 mile away) but I doubt they sell to the public. I suppose it won't hurt to go over there and try. But I'll bet they get tired of guys like me bugging them for small parts while they are trying to make and ship thousands of carburetors.

Anyway, my car is down in power with the Holley on there, it's not jetted right for my setup, but it's better than not being able to drive it at all.

Thanks again guys...
