Ford Offering Buyouts

Ford has offered buyout or retirement incentive packages to all of its 41,000 U.S. hourly workers in an attempt to further reduce its workforce.

The automaker still has more workers than it needs to produce cars and trucks at current sales levels.

Ford began the year with 89,000 employees in North America, but reduced that number to just over 80,000 as of September through attrition, buyouts and layoffs.
