towing with the Lightning

the last two times I have pulled my little 14ft flatbed with my Lightning it started pissing antifreeze out of the overflow tank. The temp isn't showing to be hot and I have never had a problem before. I am thinking that the thermostat might be sticking. It does fine as long as I am not pulling anything and both times there wasn't very much weight on the trailer.

I would have to agree with the thermostat with out knowing much more about the use of the engine.

well both times it overflowed I was in town. Once I get it up on the highway pulling something I am sure it would be fine but not in town. It shouldn't be getting hot if I am not hauling very much weight. I will try to replace the thermostat this weekend with a 160 degree one.

That is what I was thinking at first too but I haven't had any problems just cruising around. It has only done it when I had the trailer so that is why I am kinda stumped.

yeah and that is the only time it ever runs hot. I didn't have a problem pulling the Mustang to San Angelo the other day and now all of a sudden it's doing it. I don't know. I know it's throwing some codes but I will try to get them deleted tonight and see how it does.

It wasn't the thermostat causing it to overheat...it was the fact that the fan wasn't coming on. That was something else HPP screwed up when they pulled the motor to do the heads swap. I just ran the override switch in the cab so I can turn it on when I am cruising around town until I can find the time to fix it.
