I use R/P Synthetic 5W20. Their race oil is for extreme performance situations such as using exotic fuels, and is pretty expensive for street use. I think that it would be overkill.

The argument for using a lighter weight oil is that it offers less resistance to crankshaft motion and flows easier. So in theory you can get better gas mileage and more power with lighter oil. In reality there is probably little difference in 5W20 and 10W30 in an engine that doesn't regularly see 10,000 RPM.

I like Royal Purple and would recommend it, but like all things opinions vary.

I like the 5 20 for 2 reasons, the tollarances are tighter in the mod motors thats why they say 5 20 , and it's winter time and the lighter weight oil should flow better on those cold mornings. Just my 2 cents , either way you should be fine.

I read somewhere, that Ford suggest the 5w20 or whatever is printed on the oil cap, to help increase fuel economy. But I wouldnt use the race oil, unless you plan on racing all the time.
