Hydralic roller vs. hydralic tappet

I just ordered a Lunati Voodoo cam and lifter set (LUN-61003LK) from Summit Racing. I was wondering if this will work w/ my 302 H.O. motor? How will this affect the motor? Do I need to send the cam back or can I still use hydralic roller lifters instead of the hydralic tappet lifters supplied in the kit?

You can't use the flat tappet in an ho..........A flat tappet is almost like a solid roller in the sense that the lifters are flat compared to a roller lifter....

I would send it back. I made the same mistake a few years ago.

If you're set up for roller, it'd be silly to install a flat tappet cam. The only reason to go flat tappet is $$$.

Look for a hydraulic roller that will do what you want as far as performance goes. Then all you do is just change the cam. You don't ever need to change the lifters unless they have collapsed, or have a roller that has gone bad.

Do you have any suggestions on what cam to go with? I'm looking for a cam for the street with a RPM range up to 6000 to 6200.
