Need Help!!

1. Ok now.. as i pulled my heads off to replace the valvesprings and retainers i noticed 4 bent pusrods and broke the ball off of one. Now my combination was stock roller llifters, stock pushrods, pedestal mount roller rockers 1.72, dual valve springs (dont know make or details) and the heads have been milled .030. Now here is where it starts to get wierd.. we used shims to compensate for the .030 mill of the cylinder head but just the fact of them being pedestal mount doesnt give them to much adjustability, you can adjust for lash on the valve or preload the lifter but how do you keep geometry correct without spending 800 on a set of shaft mounted roller rockers that can adj the lifter preload and keep geometry correct

2. In my opinion i would think that things might be a to tight in the set up yet when i was pulling it apart i could easily moved the pushrod up/down between the llifter and rocker arm

3. I ran the exact setup on the original motor for 20000+ miles no problem
changed from original block to a factory style block ( 2 bolt not a mexican/sportsman) Cam going from original to ford E303 and adding nitrous

4. i start loosing power around 5400 rpm but kind thought that to be from the combination (cobra intake, gt-40ps and E303) but could be possible valve float (with dual valvesprings)

5. dont think i'm bottoming anything out. the pistons have fly cuts for 2.02/ 1.6 valve and im running the stock 1.84/1.42 vavles

Any help or words of wisdom would be FUCKIN Awesome!!!!!!!

You may want to check into that pushrod length, and installed height/pressure on the springs. It may be possible that the rockers being not factory with that pushrod may be giving you a fit??? Everything else seems right.

the pushrods are 6.25 called manley and ordered a set of 6.272's ( factory spec) 1 piece pushrods the installed height of the the springs were 2.0 on exhaust and 1.9 on intake currently with the new stuff its set to 1.79-1.76
Then is the pushrod going to be to long since the heads are milled .030...???

If you want to check it yourself, just build your own adjustable pushrod length tester: Simply take an old push rod and cut it about 1 to 1.5 inches from the end. Use a 1/4"-20 tap to cut threads into the open ends, and then screw in a short piece of 1/4-in. threaded rod. Use some nuts to lock the rod in position. Now you've got a adjustable tool that you can use to properly calculate and order the exact length pushrod..........

Absolutly the pushrods will be too long....Before you order anything new, you need to get an adjustable checker and see what EXACTLY the deal is. If you just buy another set of pushrods hoping for the best its gonna get real expensive in a hurry.
