Throttle buggy?

Hey guys, does this bother any of you too?

As you may know, I have the 2010 GT with the 4.6L and 5-speed.

Whenever I shift, the engine revs slightly, sometimes only a couple hundred RPM, sometimes more.

I've even done the experiment completely lifting my foot away from the pedal during the shift, but it still revs.

Does anybody else have this problem? Yes, I know how to shift, been driving a myriad of vehicles, mostly all with manual transmissions, for years. This is the only one that has done this. This is my 3rd car with drive-by-wire throttle too, so it's not technique vs. technology.

Will a tune help with this? It's really annoying!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Paul

Re: Throttle buggy?

is it durning the downshift or the upshift? cause i've seen on a couple of cars now when you go to downshift the computer automatically adjusts the revs to match the gear you are going to go in to...

Re: Throttle buggy?

I haven't paid attention to the downshift part, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Only on the upshifts.
Doesn't matter either if I'm aggressively accelerating or mildly accelerating. And there's seeming no "preset" that it's trying to go for, it just increases the engine's rpm.

Sometimes just a few, sometimes a lot. Also between all the gears.

No rhyme or reason, it just revs.

Re: Throttle buggy?

My 95 does that..........not sure why. I thought maybe it was a vacuum leak, but after checking, i found none.

Re: Throttle buggy?

ok so answer this.....

when you are shifting is the engine under a load like accelerating or are you just cruising along?

If the engine is under a load as soon as you press in the clutch the unsprung load is transfered back to the engine causing it to rev just a little in order (more or less) to release the tension.

try it when you reach an RPM and are no longer accelerating and see if this helps?
