Ford Motorcraft Motor Oil

I was reading the Autozone flyer today and they have a few Oil change specials. One that caught my eye is the Ford Motorcraft Oil with a Motorcraft filter for $16 bucks. My question is, is this oil any good since its Ford Motorcraft and its Synthetic? Is it speciality designed for our Ford engines? I'm sure its not as good as Mobil 1 or Royal Purple. Or is Ford just trying to get there foot in the door on the oil market.

Oh by the way, Autozone doesnt sell Royal Purple anymore. Was taking up shelf space the guy said.

Ford dosent make motorcraft oil, they but it from another supplier and sell it under the motorcraft brand name. I believe its havoline but i very well could be mistaken. We use it in everything from a focus to a GT supercar. It does seem to work well, i personally use it in my expedition.

Motorcraft oil has been available for years. They sell many different weights and types. Regular, semi synthetic and full synthetic. I've been using it for years and think its just as good as any other premium motor oil.

FORD ENGINE OIL Cost me an engine in my 2003 COBRA SVT. At operating temperature 5W20 is nothing more than HOT WATER! In hot weather I use 5W50 Synthetic. In cool weather I use 5W30 Synthetic oil. (CASTROL SYNTEC).

Yours Sincerley,

Ive use it a time with no problems but I think I will be using royal purple from now on. No real reason other than its a fairly good oil and its a Texas company about 20 miles from where Im from.

I prefer Quaker State High RPM Oil, its a synthetic blend made especially for muscle car engines. In my "98" I used Castrol GTX 5w-30w.

Re: Ford Motorcraft Motor Oil

I just had my 03 cobra rebuilt at 94,000 miles. They used motorcraft 5w20 synthetic blend for the third and final oil change. I have had a lot of advice about what to use.
I used Valvoline 5w20 oil for the first 94,000 miles. I am thinking Moble 1 full synthetic 5W20. I don't race except off a streetlight sometimes. I make 440 RWHP with the pulley and a tune. Any thoughts?
