Unhappy TP Sensor adjustment

I need to know how to test the TPS's postion. I know it needs to be below .999, but i'm not sure what it needs to be above. Also, I need to know where to test it at and what setting to have the multimeter on. Thank you everyone.

Good info, in addition, I have found the TPS adjustment on a 4.6 can be tricky at times, especially with aftermarket throttle body's. I have ported & polished alot of TB's for the 4.6 (2V & 4V) and found that often the TPS adjustment will not match Ford spec's without some additional work. If you cannot get the correct voltage setting drill the TPS mounting holes slightly larger so that the TPS will rotate more. Additionally, you may find it necessary to slightly bend the idle stop tab on the TB linkage arm. The arm is mild steel and will bend easy, it only takes a few thousandths to make a big difference in idle RPM. Bending the tab outward will decrease idle, however, as noted only a few thousandths is required, you absolutely do not want the TB blade to drag in the housing. To bend the stop tab use a pair of vise grips and pliers. Hold the linkage arm firmly with the vise grips with one hand; and using your other hand with the pliers VERY SLIGHTLY apply pressure to bend the tab. Holding the linkage arm firmly in place with the vise grips will prevent applying sideways pressure that could loosen the arm where it is pressed on to the TB blade shaft.
