Ticking noise

Okay so I had a ticking that would reverberate off anything I passed. I had a Borla exhaust with a BBK catted X. I took the car in and had the X replaced with a BBK catted H, and BBK Lt's.

The shop said there was an exhaust leak at the flange connecting the X to the exhaust. They fixed it, and the ticking is a little quiter. But the ticking is still there.

The question is what can cause the ticking in this video. It seems to be loudest on the passenger side, by the headers (but could be the engine too).

My buddy listened to it with a mechanics stethoscope today and narrowed it to the same area. Because my car is so low though, he couldn't get underneath to pinpoint the exact noise. It's definitely not coming from the top of the engine though.

I'm going to post a few vids so you can listen yourself. Also, While you're watching please notice the spacers/washers between the K member and the frame. The shop said they needed to do that because the header was rubbing, and the verts have a different setup. Has anyone else ever heard of something like that? It looks pretty bad, and I actually feel my steering floats now, whereas it used to be very responsive. Is that even safe?

Here's a vid of the engine running...

Here's a vid of the engine running with a rev......

Here's a vid from the exhaust........

What do you think?

Dont they make special headers for the verts? because your steering floating dosent sound safe to me. I cant hear the ticking on the video but your car sounds bad ass!! I would think you have a small exhaust leak somewhere simple fix when you find it

just installing an xpipe and such, you still have to loosen it off wiggle it around and retighten everything, sometimes it doesn't seat right. try that and then tighten it up again. i am at work and can't watch the video, but that would be my best guess. as for the K member, not sure about that, sounds fishy....i have heard of having to add spacers to clear the headers, but i think i would alter the header before i changed the geometry of the front end.

Sounds like an exhaust leak to me. I would check the connection in the exhaust.

I don't know what the size of the exhaust is. I just know it's a standard Borla catback, the BBK catted H, and the BBK ceramic coated headers.

Installation was as simple as can be.............Since it was installed by a shop, and I simply dropped it off & picked it up!

Thanks for the compliments, she'll be going in tomorrow to fix the exhaust leak (or whatever the issue is). I'll post up what happens. I just hope that tick goes away, because I love the sweet sound of the Mustangs exhaust, and the ticking is ruining that sound!

Afterwards if they fix it, I'll be having her dyno-tuned the following week.
