Disconnect the electrical, speaker, and antenna leads from the radio.

Remove the two upper mounting screws, if so equipped. Otherwise, remove the knobs, discs, control shaft nuts and washers from the radio shafts.

Remove the ash receptacle and bracket, or floor console, if applicable, to provide sufficient clearance for removal of the radio.

Remove the rear support attaching screw from the radio.

Remove the instrument panel lower reinforcement, if necessary.

Remove the heater or air conditioning floor ducts.

Remove the radio from the rear support, then drop the radio down and out from behind the instrument panel.

check A napa or a schucks checker or kragen or whatever it is in your area I know for a fact they either carry them or can get it in a cpl day time. I've worked for csk and am working at napa now. Try finding one for an 83, lol. now thats a trick
