tuner war

I've found myself in the mist of a tuner war. A shop I was having mod my 07, trailered my car to a tuner, that I don't nessesarlily like (because of his additude) to have it tuned after the install of a procharger.
Recently I wanted to put 3:73s in and my mod shop wouldn't get me in so I got in another shop who was also a tuner. While there I asked them to check the first tuner's work which they said could be better. They were both SCT dealers, but the second tuner could not go in and clean up the first tune because the first tuner had the priemeters locked. The first tuner said he has lost my file.
Now everyone is upset. The mod shop is upset that I took my car to someone else, even though he didn't have time. All three shops have been calling each other. The two tuners are in compition and I'm stuck in the middle just trying to get quality work done.

Here is the question. The second tuner has said that the only we he can tune my car is to spend hours rewriting my tune. I believe he has over charged me on my wife's 07. It cost me $300 for him to clean up a stock diablo tune and get out 8hp. Shouldn't that 1st tune be in my hand held? Don't I own that first tune? Are they all feeding me a bunch of crap?

sounds to me like you're getting jerked around, find someone else even if you've got to drive, let these assclowns know YOU'RE PAYING THEM FOR A SERVICE AND THEY ARENT GODS. secondly if there's a commerce reporting service like the BBB let them know of your complaint. and after it's all done speak to the owners of those shops and let them know how displeased you are and advise them anytime this subject comes up, you'll tell everyone you see how they fucked with you.

I am in south centeral PA. I'm not sure who is crappen who, because I don't know crap. I need to know if a tuner can lock out parameters. Shouldn't my Xcalibarator have my file. Shouldn't I be able to change my parameters or in my case cause I'm charged, any tuner from my Xcalibartor.
I was told that SCT has it setup so that only the original tuner can change the parameters, where diablo any body can change.

I thought my car ran great. It is suppose to be getting 465hp at 6700 rpms. I'm happy with that but the second tuner said it could be conservitive and do alot better at less rpms. Of course at alot more money. I would like to know where to go to learn about tuning. Anyone know?

You can go to sctflash.com and they can answer any questions you may have. But I will say that I had an x cal2 and I bought mine from Modular Depot before the converted to american muscle anyway they said I could call anybody who was an x cal dealer and the could e-mail me tunes that I coould download through the programmer cable from my e-mail straight to the tuner so I would let these guys know that they might have it locked but anybody can write you a new tune for the car just give them the mods that are done and what kind of tuner you have and the should be able to take care of you. As for the 3 shops I would tell them you are sick of the shit and that you are reporting them to the BBB and see what they say cause I think they are taking advantage of you man and from the sounds of it they are screwing you over on the price.

if your looking for a tuner close to you other than delk perf this is the shop i use http://www.speedydyno.com/ they are in owensboro ky about an hour and a half away from you. they are the #1 sct tuner in ky. greg the owner of the shop is a old military guy himself and can do anything. greg and his guys are class acts and can install any kind of mod you can think of upto and including building you a motor. heck greg even does paint and body at his shop at his house. like i said he can do anything. give me a ring 270-392-5842 and i'll ride up with you some sat and introduce you to the guys.

i go to delk for anything i need i cant do, used to live about 5 minutes from them. check out mm&ff this month matt's car is featured, a 9.80 second v6. it's bad, i've seen it in person and it's a true sleeper.

not to ruffle any feathers but delk does great work on thier own cars. other than that no thank you.
i've seen there tuning first hand go bad more than once. just like i said not to make anyone mad or to bash them that's just me. if they do good work for you so be it
