Tach problems

I have a 93 foxbody Lx with the stock tach. It shit the bed for some reason and I don't have any idea on how to fix it. My car is a 5 speed 306 and the tach stopped working right after I got a new flywheel and clutch installed. I don't know if that was just a coincidence or related. If anyone has any idea's on what to check, I would greatly appreciate the advice. I don't want to use a aftermarket tach. I have plans for the future to switch to a Florida 5.0 guage cluster.

Thanks,

Rich
