well most if not all gauges have lights, needles and numbers but the big difference is on the back of them and how thay hook up..

a eletrical gauge oil pressure has a sending unit that goes in the spot of stock oil pressure unit(ot u can T it and use both,it has 1 wire that "reads" the pressure, and 2 wires for the light. A mechanical will have a spot to hook up a actual hose that has oil in it to read the pressure.same with water temp.. 1 will have a sending unit(eletric) and 1 will have a long "cable" with a "temp probe" on it that screws into the intake/thermostat housing to read the temp..

what I did for my mechanical oil pressure was pull the stock sending unit and put a "spliter" in it so I could run both the stock one and my mechanical..

let me know IF you have the part #ers for them and I can tell you if thay are mechanical or eletric..
