classic/modern mustang

I've had this idea ever sence the mustang was redesigned back in 2005. The idea was to take a classic mustang, bout a 65-67 perferably a convertible. and take a newer mustang like an 05 and new mustang. and combine the two. I dont mean simply doin an engine swap, thats been done a million times. I mean doin the engine sway, adapting the new suspension to work with the classic mustang, using the dash, center console and front seats from the newer mustang and usting the door panels, and rear seat from the classic. What does everyone think of this idea? Has it been done before? I cant find out if it has, but I think it would be kick ass if it has.

I think I've seen something similar to this. I know they've taken classic exterior and put it on an S197 chassis. I'll let you know if I stumble across the magazines that show this. I say give it a try, but take measurements on the interior stuff before you do it to make sure it will fit.

I know they have put an old 66 body on an 03 Cobra. I don't know if they have done it to an 05 and newer.

That would be why I wouldnt be doin it, unless I win the lottery or something. Being a delivery driver for a parts store does not pay that well.
