68 Mustang

I am restoring my very first car. A 68 mustang. My cousin got ahold of it...and lets just say that the car is now needing alot of work.

I am going to repaint it to the original color, but i have a question. The engine bay, should i paint that the color of the car or flat black. I was thinking that black would get hot faster thus making the engine run hotter. but i have seen alot of cars, old and new, that have black engine bays. let me know....

Thanks

Black, it dissipates heat faster. If you plan on racing, definately black, if its just a weekend toy do body color. I'm gonna go that way in my car. Post up some pics of this gem so we can see her.

I've seen worse 42 yr old's. I've owned a number of Mustangs in my life and would be very excited if I was able to reclaim my first car ever, a '69 fastback. She had a red front driver side fender and the rest was a very faded blue. She's probably been turned into a toaster by now. Keep us posted and would be interested in seeing where all the saltwater termites have attacked this beauty. This would be a prefect time to start an album or garage. Front bumper is missing, what does her ass look like and the passenger side?
