How about a big FU to Chevy?

Hahahaha! so...i just picked up the november MM&FF mag, and low and behold, the "experimental engine" that has been making the rounds in a roush mustang at drag races...is an in development....get this friggin 7.0L! that just makes me want to touch things in a bad way. I can't wait until i can plant that in the stang! the thing makes over 800HP in N/A trim. man....just think of the possibilities! take that you prick with a Z06! HA!

It's not really a big F U to Chevy. Look at the Z06, 505 n/a hp in package that weighs about 3000 pounds. Chevy is also releasing another ZR1 Corvette, 650hp from a supercharged 6.2 litre.

I love my Fords and I love my Chevies. Ford made a major mistake when they dropped the 5.0 for the 4.6. What were they thinking, build a heavier car, and put a motor in it with less hp. They half way redeemed themselves with the 4 valve, but that was limited production. Then they came out with the 3v 4.6 for the S197, wtf were they thinking. Take a shitty motor and make it even more shitty.

GM made a mistake dropping the F-Body, but they kept up the tradition of the Corvette. One thing GM did was keep the LSx based motor, that is an awesome motor. Plus GM kept going forward with a larger motor, instead of building a smaller less power motor in a heavier car.

Not trying to turn this into a war between brands, I love them both, but Ford will never be able to compete with GM and the LSx motor.

On another note, I think Honda has both beat. We spend alot of time at Revolutions Performance working on Danny's turbo Mustang. We made 1054 uncorrected rwhp on E-85 pump gas at 20psi boost. Pretty impressive for a low dollar set up. One of the employees there had a stock Honda, 1.8 litre, with head studs and MLS head gasket, basically stock motor. He added a turbo and bigger injectors and cranked out 500whp on the same dyno. This was the only car the kid owned, drove it everyday. Now everyone is thinking well I can do that with my Mustang. Yes you can, even with a stock 5.0, but the block will split, been there done that. You can do it with a Terminator, but the cost for the KB blower is more then the kid had in his whole car. You can do it with the S197, but the rods will fall out, seen it twice this year. Don't get me wrong, I hate Imports, most of my family retired from General Motors, if it weren't for Imports, I would probably have 24 years in with GM right now. But, you gotta give them credit, they are doing it.

Ok I have a 95 5.0 and its a terrible engine 215 HP in all its glory LOL there is no way any 2v 4.6 is as slow as it now on the other hand its much easier to work on the 5.0 and I would never trade my Cobra for any 5.0 but hey thats just me. Also Im not saying the LSx engine are weak by any means but saying the 4.6 engine cant hang is a little silly Ive seen guys drive there cobra to the track run a 9 second 1/4 mile and drive it home now if that cant compete I dont know what can.
