Octane boosters

Do they really work? Which one is the best out there?

The best I have found is a Torco product called MACH ACCELLERATOR..... They say it is not an octane booster, but a race fuel concentrate..... It is supposed to turn 93 oct pump gas into unleaded race gas..... It comes in a 32oz can and you can mix it 3 different ways - Using 93 octane pump gas if you add 16oz of accellerator to 10 gal of gas you get 97 oct, if you add 16oz to 5 gal of gas you get 104 oct, and if you add 32oz to 5 gal of gas you get 107 oct..... The best part is it is a no-lead formula so it is safe for O2 sensors and cats.....

I have used it in my car with great success..... I mix it 16oz to 5 gal of 93 to make the 104 oct race fuel, and in my car it works just as good as 110 oct leaded Sunoco Standard race gas in my ride.....

Sorry to be so long winded but I wanted to try and explain it..... Here is a link to it on Torco's site: http://www.torco.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=163

Your typical octane booster, from what I understand, dont help unless you need it. I have used them in the past and couldnt tell much difference. Frantf is more on the right track. What he is talking about is most likely like a nitromethane based product. That does work, but you have to be carefull with it. My bro-in-law used too much last year and it burnt a hole through the block between cylinders on his 350. If your cars mostly stock, your better off just getting running high octane pump gas. Unless your running a power adder.
