here is my rant!

I ordered some engine heads (mustang patriot performance heads) from this company (order number 2588 was given) on April 23, 2007. It has been over a month and this product has not been delivered AND they have already taken payment for the order. I called about 10 days after i had ordered it and was lied to and told that my item should be shipped out that evening. So i waited another week or so and received no part. I called back and was told that the only people that can help with this order are the people that work for the help desk and that the only way to contact them was through email. so i wrote 2 emails about the issue, politly asking where my item was and received no responce. so i decided to be patient and wait. now a month has passed and i am tired of this run around. yesterday, the 21st of may, i called for 3 hours trying to get ahold of the helpdesk or anyone that could cancel this order for me. every time i was transferred to the help desk, i was on hold for 15 minutes and then hung up on. i once got through to a voicemail system and left my name and number to which i have not received a call back. i then called back and when i finally got through i asked to speak to a manager. i was transferred to the managers line and it rang a few times and we then transferred to HIS voicemail system. i left a message and called back, asking not to be placed on hold again and that i just want to cancel this order. i was given the answer that the helpdesk is the only people that could do this and that the person i was talking to could not help me. now it is the morning of may 22nd and i am trying to contact this company again to cancel this order. the website says that the helpdesk is open at 930 am central time. so at 2 minutes after, i call and noone picks up. i called the regular line and asked why noone was answering the helpdesk and was told that they werent going to be in untill 1030 central time. so i wait again and call and AGAIN noone is answering. i call the regular number AGAIN and ask whats going on and was put on hold for another 15 minutes and eventually hung up on. i try for another 20 minutes to call back and get a busy signal each time. when i finally get ahold of someone, i asked why the help desk wasnt answering and was told they are swamped and he doesnt even have room to place me on hold for them. i then respectfully asked for a manager, was transferred, and again ended up at George Pastron's (not sure if its spelled correctly) voicemail. i just want my money back

just thought you guys would like to know

It sounds like it's probably time for a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Inform RPM Outlet that you inend to file a complaint and if they are still uncooperative follow through and file it. They have a complaint page at this address:
http://www.bbb.org/complaint.asp
You can also contact your state attorney general.
I have heard of several cases like this involving this company. You aren't alone.

I have been burnt by RPMOutlet as well... It was nearly a year ago, but I will never do business with them again.

Man that sucks. I hate to hear shit like this. But I'm really glad you posted your experience here. Maybe it will save others from a similar experience.

It would appear from the comments above that you did indeed use a credit card...so it should be no problem getting this resolved in a hurry by contacting your cc issuing company and telling them what happened.

Doug we should start a bunghole list.

There have been similar threads concerning similar situations, but they're scattered all around the place. We should really consider having a central location to list these bungholes.

man sorry to hear the bum luck but thanks for posting it. I agree we need a list of shitty parts places so people can look and see who to buy from.

I have had some shitty luck with the internet parts buying I have done, so much in fact that the ONLY way I will buy anything is go to summit racing and buy it if Im going new. It relly sucks cuz its usually more expensive that way....if I do the internet/forum/ebay thing I will only do COD/close enough to drive and pick it up.NOT many people do COD anymore but I have found IF you explain why you want it and agree to pay the fees for COD and "pre-pay" the place enough for the fees, shipping, return shipping and a small deposit they USUALLY agree..you would be suprised how fast it can get to your front door when a place has yet to "make their money off you".That REALLY applies to forums lol.. the fastes shipped items I have ever bought were shipped to me COD lol lol lol

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with them. I had a very similar problem in the early 90's ordering some b.s. lookalike Saleen wing and contacted my credit card company after 120 days, The charge was credited to my card almost imediately. I did however buy some injectors from rpm and they sent them to me promptly. I did find however that the salesperson on the phone would probably not know an injector from a camshaft, so I wouldnt want to do buisness there again anyway. I hope you get the heads you want soon. good luck

i ended up gettin an email from rpm this afternoon with the invoice and the tracking number on it, which i immediatly checked out and it looks legit. im still pissed that i had to go through any of this and am not going to be withdrawing my complaint with the BBB. also, i paid with a debit card, so my bank said that i couldnt get the money back because the payment was already authorized or whatever...oh well, at least i should be getting them tomorrow.
BTW does anyone know whre i can get some reviews about patriot heads?

I asked JMSchip and performance about the heads they say , they have a good port job on the but the valves are not that good. They said order them bare and get better valves installed. Oh thanks for the info on RPM.
