New steed in the stable

So the 09 is showing her age (nearly 130K). She could use some things, and I dont really care to put her through another winter. Enter my new pony. 2014 Challenger R/T classic. Got a good deal as the 2015's are on their way (I got mine for 32K, 37/38K was the sticker) Leather w/suite inserts. Heated seats and side view mirrors. Kind of a slug off the bat, nothing like my mustang, but its extremely comfortable. It'll be nice this winter. But come spring, 4.10's, 6 speed, flowmasters for the mustang. Then my old lady can drive the Challenger. Oh yea, I got married this past June, which was the easiest wedding ever. Courthouse, then took 30 close family and friends out for dinner.

Re: New steed in the stable

I drove an SRT this summer at a Goodguys' event> loved it but the price was too much for what the car lacked. My buddy just ordered a Hellcat and it was approved by Dodge. Can't wait to see it once he gets it.

Re: New steed in the stable

She definitely doesn't get to stepping like my Mustang, but when she doesn't she could outpace my Mustang. I can get her to chirp in nearly every gear.

The hellcat I've been waiting to debut for a few years now. Co-worker and I spotted it a few years ago on a dyno, all on it's own. The power numbers blew me away. Rumor I've seen on allpar are that a V10 supercharged Viper is in the works. We shall see. SRT group keeps tighter lips than my buddys mom.

Anyways. I wouldn't expect any further talk of this car from me. I don't think my wife will care for mods, so that kind of money will be put towards the 91 and 09 stang.

I think the hellcat will be a kewl piece of history, but the working man won't be able to afford it. Kind of like the shelby gt500's. I have always wanted one, but could never afford one.

That is a nice looking car. I like the Challengers but they are too heavy.

Re: New steed in the stable

So I've had this turd for what, a year and a half now (30K miles on it). I definitely like the car, but it no where near excites me like the Mustang. I already breezed through the factory tires (which werent worth a DAMN). I threw some winter tires on it for this past winter. Those helped a ton. I just put on 20x9 and 20x10 matte black hellcat wheels with 275/40 and 315/35 tires. They've only been on a day, and I'm happy with the appearance (just needs to be lowered in the worse way). I also swapped the chrome fuel door for the matte black one. I have tint sitting in the house that I need to put in as well. Once I have the 09 back on the road, I'm going to look into a brembo swap for this. Yes, at 30K it already needs brakes...needed them almost immediately. It's not from my driving, the factory brakes and tires just plain outright sucked.

Re: New steed in the stable

Looking good, but yes a big +1 on getting that thing down a little lower.
