Proud New Owner of a 83 T-Top Mustang GT

I have some really exciting new's I'm the proud new owner of a 83 t-top Mustang GT it needs alittle work but this one is going nowhere cause I've always wanted a Mustang GT the same year I was born witch is 83. It's also a t-top car and the body on this thing is straight. The guy was asking $900 obo and I talked him down to $800 I'm really happy and it's in even better shape than the last Fox I had. I should be getting it next week sometime and I will post better pictures but here is a few for now.

Re: Proud New Owner of a 83 T-Top Mustang GT

No the guy's son took the engine out cause he was going to do a 351 Cleveland swap but I guess lost interest in it and it was sitting for awhile and the father decided to sell it. It comes with the engine and it's a 83 GT T-Top with 5 speed car. I've always wanted a 83 and I'm never getting rid of it so the price was ok for me. It was kinda high but I wanted the car really bad and I'm not disappointed in it at all. I can mark one mustang off my bucket list lol.

Re: Proud New Owner of a 83 T-Top Mustang GT

Thanks Intmdtr I will check that site out. Yea JJohnson you either like the hoods or hate them lol. Really no in between lol. I used to have a 79 Mercury Capri back in high school and it had a the same hood scoop this 83 has but it was mounted the other way. That's one thing that always is weird to me is the hood scoop being backwards I think on the 82-84 mustang's.

Re: Proud New Owner of a 83 T-Top Mustang GT

I'm picking up the 83 tomorrow and bringing it home. I'm going to stop by the carwash on the way home and give it a bath. I also ordered a Summit brand stage 1 intake and my buddy has a Holley 600 carb and I'm going to put the intake and carb on the 93 5.0 HO that I bought last year for my 89 Fox I used to have. I'm going to keep looking stock as much as possible but will have some Wheaties under the hood lol. As soon as I get the car home tomorrow I will take some more pics.

Re: Proud New Owner of a 83 T-Top Mustang GT

Sorry for not updating anything in here or being on just been busy. I had to pull the engine in my Bronco cause the rear main seal is shot really bad and leaking oil from the valve cover's. But I'm kinda glad it happened cause I already have a 93 5.0 that came out of a f-150 to put back in it. Also the 93 5.0 HO that I was going to put in my 83 T-Top I sold to my buddy to get his wife's 89 LX up and running. But once the engine is out of the bronco and the other one installed. I'm going to start tearing the engine out of the bronco down to a bare block and take it to a machine shop to be bored 4.030" over and ready for a 347 stroker kit. My buddy bought 6 5.4 stroke length eagle h beam rod's with 6 SRP flat top forged pistons that are in like new condition all I have to do is buy tow more rod's and pistons, crank, and my buddy already has new bearings, and new rings.
