Re: Proud New Owner of a 83 T-Top Mustang GT

Well guy's it's been three years since I lost my Sonic Blue 03 GT in my divorce I told myself that the next one will be faster and way better well after patiently waiting and especially sharing with you all my plans and I keep changing my mind for whatever reason or another lol. I've changed it once again but for the final time I'm doing the 347 stroker. I haven't been on much cause I've been working everyday except Sunday. I have managed to sell the bronco and the other engine for a $1000 and that money is going straight to the 347 build. I just started tearing the block down that I'm going to use it's a stock roller 5.0 block it's the engine that was originally in the bronco. I'm getting it tore down as quickly as I can and hopefully dropping it off at the machine shop this weekend. Also tomorrow or Friday I'm ordering a crap ton of part's. Like for example I need to buy two more rod's and pistons, all my bearings, ARP bolt's cause I'm not skimping out on this build I can't afford to. The head's I'm getting are the Trick Flow Twisted Wedge, I'm going to get a better intake manifold thinking about a Edelbrock dual plane Air Gap, there is probably some more those are just the basic's for know. I'm going to be spraying this also going with the NX Hitman Kit. I'm also going to be upgrading the fuel system for the Nitrous and stuff like that. Yes I do promise as soon as parts start coming in I will post pic's and I will keep this build up to date and try to get on more. I'm really excited honestly I haven't been this excited since I had Sonic. It mite take me just a little bit longer than planned but it's going to be well worth it in the end and I'm so pumped. Oh yea one more thing the name of the car is "Beast Mode" lol. Hope I haven't bored you guy's to death I sure do appreciate all the help and advice and for being patient with me as I kept changing my mind. But I'm not changing this time I've already pulled the plug so I'm in it till it's done.

Re: Proud New Owner of a 83 T-Top Mustang GT

Good to hear. My only concern would be the stock block 347 with nitrous. I only hope the block holds up for you.

Re: Proud New Owner of a 83 T-Top Mustang GT

Sounds like you have a great build ahead. Have you thought about going with a 331 instead of a 347? The 331 will handle some nitrous and you should be able to save a few bucks on the block work needed.

Re: Proud New Owner of a 83 T-Top Mustang GT

Yea my buddy just got the block back from the machine shop and he has a 347stroker kit already I only need two rods, two pistons, and a crank. I'm getting two eagle h-beam rods, two SRP flat top pistons, and a Scat 9000 cast crank. I'm ordering the parts this week when I get all the parts plus my bearings I'm going to have it balanced.

Re: Proud New Owner of a 83 T-Top Mustang GT

Well I picked up some parts earlier I decided I'm going to use a Turbo 400 behind my 347 stroker. So tonight I bought a JW flexplate originally they are a little over 200 I bought one from my buddy for 120 nothing wrong with it.
