You seem to be in bit of a pickle sir!

When I heard those words come from the woman at the DMV I wanted to punch her so much!! This all started October 2010, the check tire pressure went off. The tire pressure was fine. I already had new tires ordered, and an appointment to install them. During installation I was told the idiot light was on due to sensor error. This was because the metal safety straps on three of the four tires were busted. The straps were upgraded with better ones, but to get the idiot light off, they cleared ALL CODES on my stang. Three weeks later I got my plate renewal notice with need for emissions test. There were no codes left. The test site guy said drive it for a few months and come back. The stang was stored from November to April, plates expired, I tested again. No codes, I had to buy a $8 dollar temp plate good for one month. Tested in May, one out of four codes set. Woman at the DMV said she couldn't sell me a second temp plate because it was more than 90 days since my plate expired. I told her it was more than 90 days when they sold me the first temp plate. I said I cant get a regular plate(sticker) unless I drive it to set the codes, and you won't sell me a temp plate to drive it. That's when she said "You seem to be in a bit of a pickle sir". It took all my strength to lock it up and be civil. In the end she gave me a phone number in Madison to call. The sweet woman in Madison said" No worry senior, no ned temp plata, if arrrrrreesta show pappers an esplain policia.... Well today I was 100 feet from my workplace and got pulled over at 6am. The cop started with expired plates, no front plate, too dark tinted windows, too loud exhaust, and speeding. From the way he stood with one hand on his side arm the entire time I thought I for sure was going to jail. Ha ahahahaha. After I esplain to policia an show pappers he ran my DL, came back to the car and said have a nice Day, all is in progress!! I went from a pissed off old man to a giggling little girl. Some times those guys are golden man.

Sounds like it all worked out in the end. Hope you get those codes set soon.

yup, when you clear codes it resets the self tests, you are not waiting for codes just the self tests to complete, like cat, o2 evap, ect, long trips will help
