SCT tuner

Anyone know if I can pull my custom tunes off of the tuner and save them so they dont get erased if I do a firmware upgrade? New tune isnt here yet and they suggest firmware be new before loading new tune to the tuner so it wont corrupt. However, I can only pull my stock tune off to preserve it not the steeda tune for the intake.

I thought the new tune would be here already but I dont want to be without the car should I try the firmware thing and loose the steeda tune.
Any suggestions?

Re: SCT tuner

i don't think by doing a firmware you will loose your tunes, but they suggest returning to stock before doing firmware.

Re: SCT tuner

i didn't do the firmware update when i got my tunes from vmp. i'm pretty sure you only have to update the firmware if you want the latest preloaded/canned tunes, i'm fairly positive it doesn't apply to custom tunes

Re: SCT tuner

BLOW BY RACING was supposed to have my tune for me last night, low and behold no tune today at 11 so I call and get the ole "he is sitting at his desk right now writing tunes you should have it 15 minutes" story. Here we are at 2pm and guess what... yep no tune. I call and get the "he left his thumbdrive home that had a file on it you need" explanation. Now it is maybe he can write it tonight and get it to me if not it may be monday or tuesday. I was getting a pretty good price but, I de-tuned yesterday and have been waiting.

Long story short they have my money and I have no tune. Hopefully it gets here soon. The reason I went with them is they claim to have one of the best tunes and there were good write ups on it. They have done a lot of work on the three valves.

Here I sit all broken hearted,
Tried to tune,
but the tune guy forgot it.

Re: SCT tuner

It is done! I am feeling an oddness but posted that in another post. It is an awesome tune and I guess it was worth the wait! First impression means a lot to me and although they didnt "screw the pooch" I am a bit cautious now. I am planning on spending a lot of money with some speed shop so maybe I expected too much.

Re: SCT tuner

Glad to hear that you got your tune! Hope that you get it figured out >>> I read the other thread where you said it felt a little flat or odd around 2500 or so, but then it picked up good about 3000... Good luck with it!
